Also called Whoa This Is Worthless · Dipper Worthless Paper · Gravity Falls Negative Twelve Dollar Bill
Dipper examines a piece of paper and cheerfully announces that it is worthless. Put the disappointing reward, expired offer, or useless message on the blank paper.
The first panel invites the reader to inspect something that looks important. Dipper’s upbeat expression makes the dismissive verdict feel even more blunt.
It works for a reward with a catch or information that arrives too late to help. Name the thing specifically so the audience can see why it has no practical value.
The scene comes from “Irrational Treasure,” a Gravity Falls episode broadcast on August 17, 2012. Quentin Trembley gives Dipper a negative-twelve-dollar bill, prompting the reaction used in the meme. [1]
Know Your Meme documents an edited GIF being reshared on Google Plus in June 2015. A two-panel Reddit variation in August 2018 replaced the bill with a new supposedly useless item, the same approach used by this blank-paper template. [1]
Put a short label in the large blank sheet in the first panel. Leave the existing reaction text and Dipper’s face visible.
You can also use the Image tool to place a picture on the paper. The lower panel already provides the verdict, so it needs no new caption.
