SpongeBob makes an offer, then adds one detail that draws a much bigger crowd. Fill the two blank signs and let the crowd panels show the increase in demand.
The upper row introduces something people already want. The lower row adds a stronger reason to want it, and the final crowd takes that enthusiasm to an absurd scale.
The offer can be a product, an event, or a small convenience. The second sign needs to improve the first offer; an unrelated phrase leaves the larger crowd without a reason to be there.
The four-panel image combines SpongeBob at his stand in Bubblestand with crowd shots from Patty Hype. It is an edit assembled from two episodes, rather than a single sequence in which this particular offer attracts the crowd. [1]
Know Your Meme traces an early version to the Spanish-language Facebook page Jose-JP on July 26, 2014. A Super Smash Bros. edit appeared on Reddit that September, using the crowd to express anticipation for a game. [1]
Write a very short offer on the yellow sign in the upper-left panel. Add the extra selling point on the small white sign in the lower-left panel. The two right-hand panels need no labels: their different crowd sizes are the response.
There is little room on either sign. A word or two such as Coffee followed by Free is enough to explain why the entire town would suddenly turn up.
