Frank Reynolds casually describes an excessive response. Add the small trigger that sent someone straight to their loudest or least subtle solution.
The humor comes from the jump between an ordinary situation and Frank’s extreme response. The setup explains what happened; the printed line supplies the overreaction.
The word “blasting” can refer to loud music, enthusiastic game play, or an overly forceful household fix. A mild trigger makes the disproportionate reaction clearer.
Danny DeVito delivers the line as Frank Reynolds in “Gun Fever Too: Still Hot,” an It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode first broadcast on September 11, 2013. Frank recounts firing at robbers during a television interview. [1]
The reaction image began spreading in late September 2019. Know Your Meme records a September 29 Facebook post and several Reddit variations the following day. The familiar caption adds “So” to the line as spoken. [1]
Place one short setup across the top of the image. Leave Frank’s face and the yellow subtitle visible.
Write the moment before the response, rather than repeating it. Everyday uses of “blasting,” such as turning music up, give the line a new meaning.
