What does Anthony Adams Rubbing Hands mean?
Also called Licking Lips · Yellow Suit Behind a Tree · Spice Adams · Leon Lemons
Anthony Adams peers around a tree in a bright yellow suit, rubbing his hands. Add the opportunity he has spotted: a fresh plate of food, an empty seat, or a chance to start a long story.
The pose suggests eager anticipation before anything happens. The caption tells us what the person wants and why they are suddenly paying attention.
It can be harmless delight or a little scheming. A modest reward paired with the elaborate pose makes the reaction feel deliberately excessive.
Origin
A yellow-suit character steps out from a family photo set.
Former NFL player Anthony “Spice” Adams posted “The Love Story of Leon Lemons” with a series of family photographs on December 27, 2017. The yellow-suit image became a reaction on Twitter by January 2018. [1]
In a 2024 Pardon My Take appearance, Adams explained that he changed into the suit during a family photo shoot. Know Your Meme records that account alongside the image’s later spread as a caption template. [1]

Caption guide
Name the opportunity just out of view.
Use a short situation caption low on the jacket, below the hands. Keep the face, rubbing hands, and tree visible so the viewer catches the pose.
A “Me when…” line can establish both the observer and the temptation. Choose something specific enough to explain the eagerness immediately.
- The tempting opportunity
- Across the lower jacket, below the hands.
- Keep the face and hands unobstructed.
- Name the thing being anticipated.
- Use a small reward for an oversized reaction.
- Keep the caption below the gesture.
