Frodo accepts that he is not getting an answer. Use his amused reaction when a person, instruction, or status message gives you far less information than you wanted.
The joke treats missing information as a deliberately guarded secret. A vague recipe or delivery update becomes something that refuses to confide in you.
Frodo looks amused rather than furious. That makes the format a good fit for mild confusion, curiosity, and giving up on a small mystery.
