Our story
We started with a small goal: build an AI meme generator because it sounded like a fun thing to make. The three of us hadn't met in person, so a WhatsApp group became our workspace.
About Supermeme.ai
Supermeme is an AI meme generator that suggests templates and captions from a written idea. Sanjeev NC, Nico Botha and Ramsri Golla started building it in January 2022, working through a WhatsApp group.
In our first-year mission post, we described ourselves as three independent creators bootstrapping Supermeme part-time. A year of building and trying the product had given us a clearer goal: make more of the meme-making process easier, including finding templates, writing captions and formatting the result.

Our mission
Our aim is to make meme creation easier so more people can use humour in their communication. In marketing, that might mean replacing a stock image in a presentation with a meme about a situation your audience recognises.
Start with a written idea in text to meme to get template and caption suggestions, or use the meme maker to add your own captions to an image. Choose and edit the draft for the people you want to reach. The 5 Elements of a Meme covers the image, caption, message, context and how the words fit the template.
First-year milestones
