Also called Truck Stuck Under a Bridge · On the Road to Success There Are No Shortcuts
A truck promising that there are no shortcuts gets stuck under a low bridge. Add the confident plan that ran into an obvious limit.
The slogan and the accident contradict each other. The picture works for advice that fails in practice, or a shortcut that creates more work.
Use the truck as the result of a bad decision. A short caption can explain the decision without covering the printed slogan that makes the image funny.
The photograph was circulating by May 2015. PolitiFact traced the crash to the bridge at Mamaroneck and Halstead avenues in Mamaroneck, New York, using contemporary local reporting and photographs from other angles. [1]
The words about success and shortcuts belong to the original truck. Later edited versions changed the trailer’s message, but this template keeps the slogan visible in the original photograph. [1]
Place one caption in the space above the bridge. Keep the truck’s side visible so the slogan can still be read.
Choose a decision that sounds efficient until it meets reality. Skipping instructions, packing too much, or ignoring a limit all fit the picture.
