Also called SpongeBob Burning a Note · SpongeBob Throwing Paper in the Fire
SpongeBob reads a note, burns it, and warms his hands. Write the instruction or reminder on the blank paper; the remaining panels provide his response.
The character sees the message, considers it, and deliberately gets rid of it. The joke is a refusal to accept what the paper says.
That refusal can be sensible or ridiculous. An unnecessary meeting deserves rejection, while ignoring a useful reminder makes SpongeBob the unreasonable one.
The panels come from “Party Pooper Pants,” a SpongeBob SquarePants episode first aired on May 17, 2002. Patchy the Pirate sends SpongeBob an invitation, but the ink runs underwater. SpongeBob disposes of the paper in a fire. [1]
Know Your Meme traces an early meme use to an Imgur post by MASHorGTFO on November 25, 2017, while noting that the poster probably was not its creator. A four-panel version appeared in Reddit’s r/MemeEconomy on April 17, 2018. [1]
The invitation scene supplies the reading, burning, and hand-warming sequence. [1]
The documented post establishes circulation, not a confirmed first creator. [1]

Write a short note inside the white rectangle in the upper-left panel. Read the strip left to right, then top to bottom: receive, consider, burn, enjoy.
Use wording that sounds like an actual notice or instruction. The other panels explain the rejection, so adding a final caption usually repeats a joke the picture already tells.

The rule is reasonable; the refusal is the joke.
He knowingly throws away the information he will probably need later.
