Celebrate a tiny saving as though it filled a vault. Scrooge lounging on piles of coins turns a modest financial win into ridiculous wealth.
The money takes up most of the picture, with Scrooge reclining comfortably among it. A caption about a small refund or a few coins makes the scale of the celebration absurd.
It also works for a person guarding a trivial saving with great seriousness. The caption should make the amount or benefit small enough that the mountain of money is an obvious exaggeration.
Carl Barks created Scrooge McDuck for the 1947 comic story “Christmas on Bear Mountain.” Disney’s D23 describes him as Donald Duck’s wealthy uncle, who later starred in his own stories and DuckTales. [1]
Scrooge’s Money Bin stores an enormous fortune, while his treasured Number One Dime is the first coin he earned. That combination of vast wealth and attachment to a single coin fits jokes about very small savings. [2]
Use the open blue area in the upper left for the caption. It keeps Scrooge, his relaxed pose, and the piles of coins visible.
Name the exact small win: a saved delivery fee, loose change, or a coupon that worked. A vague caption about being rich misses the contrast that makes this image useful.
