Also called Stonks Blank · Meme Man Stock Market · Stonks Without Stonks
Meme Man poses confidently beside a rising market arrow. This version has no printed “Stonks” label, leaving room for your own questionable success story and triumphant verdict.
The businesslike pose makes a bad bargain look like financial genius. Use the setup to reveal the flaw, then let the confident reaction pretend it was a win.
The joke can also be about a tiny saving that required far too much effort. The rising arrow supplies an exaggerated sense of progress.
The Stonks image was posted by the Facebook page Special Meme Fresh on June 5, 2017. It combined Meme Man with a stock-market backdrop and a deliberately misspelled caption. [1]
The image spread through jokes about poor financial decisions and returned in more caption edits in 2018 and 2019. This template retains the character and arrow while removing the original word, so the closing label is editable. [1]
Put the supposed achievement over the lower part of the suit and the short verdict beside the arrow. The examples use “Stonks,” but you can replace that word.
Make the flaw easy to spot: spending more to save a little, buying something unnecessary, or using too much time to get a tiny discount.
