A polite smile turns into a laugh that is hard to take seriously. Use the two frames for a request followed by the detail that makes it ridiculous.
Leonardo DiCaprio wears sunglasses and a white polo shirt in both frames. In the first, he holds his hands up with a small smile; in the second, he leans forward laughing.
The change can read as disbelief or exaggerated politeness. A confident claim followed by an impossible condition gives the laughter something specific to respond to.
These frames come from The Wolf of Wall Street, the 2013 film in which Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort. In the yacht scene, Belfort meets FBI agents and gives them an exaggerated, insincere laugh. [1]
The Wolf of Wall Street includes Belfort’s yacht meeting with the agents. [1]
Place a short line below each expression. Keep the sunglasses and open mouth clear so the contrast remains easy to read.
You can write both lines as one request, with the unreasonable part saved for last. You can also contrast the polite answer someone gives with what they are really thinking.
