Also called Jack Sparrow Running · Captain Jack Sparrow Chase · Pirates of the Caribbean Running Meme
Jack Sparrow runs through shallow water with a crowd behind him. Label the runner and whatever is catching up, from unread messages to the consequences of yesterday’s choices.
Jack can be someone avoiding a problem, escaping a conversation, or trying to enjoy a quiet moment. The crowd gives the thing they are escaping a physical presence.
The distance between one runner and a whole crowd makes several small demands feel overwhelming. Keep the labels about the chase itself so the direction of movement helps tell the joke.
Johnny Depp plays Jack Sparrow in this chase from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. The 2006 film has Jack flee a pursuing group at the water’s edge; Disney lists its release date as July 7, 2006. [1] [2]
Jack’s flailing run also became a separate imitation trend on TikTok in 2022. That later challenge is one use of the scene, rather than the origin of the film image or a date for its first captioned meme. [2]
Place a short name on Jack’s body and the pursuing problem above the crowd to the left. Keep his face and outstretched arm clear so the panic remains visible.
Choose a pressure that can plausibly pile up: deadlines, messages, requests, or people needing something. A very small demand can also work if the runner’s escape feels comically excessive.
