Lewis is already under the machine, tool in hand, when he admits the job is beyond him. Add the ordinary task that has somehow become as difficult as repairing futuristic technology.
The character looks engaged in a complicated repair while admitting he cannot handle it. The contrast works for moments when confidence disappears after seeing the instructions.
You can make the task genuinely difficult or deliberately simple. Treating a coffee machine or board-game rulebook as advanced engineering is the joke.
The image and dialogue come from Disney’s Meet the Robinsons, released on March 30, 2007. Lewis, a young inventor visiting the future, struggles with a repair while Wilbur urges him to keep moving forward. [1] [2]
