Also called Let Me In · Eric Andre at the Fence
Eric Andre grips a fence, then cries out to get inside. Put the thing you want in the first panel and an increasingly impatient demand in the second.
The fence makes desire visible: something you want is right there, but you cannot reach it. The second frame turns impatience into a full performance.
The joke can be about a literal locked door or a less tangible barrier, such as a password reset, a ticket queue, or a game you cannot open yet.
The scene comes from the Eric Andre Show special “Near the DNC,” which aired on Adult Swim on July 29, 2016. Andre is outside the Democratic National Convention, shouting to be let in. Adult Swim published the segment on its YouTube channel. [2] [1]
Know Your Meme records a reaction GIF on Twitter in October 2018 and labeled still-image versions on Reddit in February 2019. In those edits, Andre and the space beyond the fence stand for someone desperate to reach something. [2]
The special supplies the fence scene and the repeated plea. [2]
A Twitter post uses Andre’s frustration as a response to an unrelated situation. [2]
Know Your Meme records labeled versions posted by Phasyo and GeneralBh on Reddit. [2]
Use the top of the first frame to explain what is keeping you out. Put the demand on the left of the second frame, away from Andre’s face.
This version has no printed dialogue. You can add the familiar plea or replace it with a request specific to your situation. Keep the second line more urgent than the first.
