Goku rests his cheek on his hand and listens with a smile. Pair a polite-sounding question with a pointed follow-up to make that patience feel thoroughly sarcastic.
The smile looks attentive, but the caption turns it into someone humoring a boast or waiting for an obvious mistake. The speaker sounds calm because they think the answer is already clear.
A small contradiction works well: someone skips the instructions, reads one article and becomes an expert, or starts handing out advice after trying something once. The lower line should reveal what the speaker doubts.
This Dragon Ball image circulates under the name Condescending Goku. A captioned version archived by Know Your Meme on June 3, 2015 uses the same head-in-hand pose to mock a claim about hiding one’s power level. [1]
The archive links that example to Quickmeme and tags it alongside Condescending Wonka. It documents the format in use by that date, rather than establishing when the first Goku caption was made. [1]
Know Your Meme adds an example titled Condescending Goku, with a link back to Quickmeme. [1]
Place the claim or question above Goku’s face and the skeptical follow-up below it. Keep his eyes, smile, and supporting hand visible so the caption has a patient listener delivering it.
Use a short question rather than a long insult. The reader should be able to connect the two lines without needing the history of the argument.
