Bubbles Girl Meme Template

A girl in a yellow jacket runs while clutching a bottle of bubbles. Add a reason for the sudden exit, or something worth hurrying toward.

Her movement and sideways glance make a small trip look urgent. The bubble bottle adds a playful detail that contrasts with an overly serious caption.

You can read the pose as escaping a problem or racing toward something good. Pick one direction for the joke and make the caption establish it.

Know Your Meme traces the photograph’s early meme use to a 4chan thread on August 22, 2009. People cut the girl out of the image and placed her into new scenes, often inventing something for her to escape. [1]

The edits spread to Tumblr, and a September 2009 BuzzFeed post invited more remixes. The original photograph does not establish that she was fleeing anything; that interpretation comes from the edits and captions. [1]

Put one short caption across the grass above her head. Leave the expression, outstretched arm, and bubble bottle clear.

Use a small everyday trigger that does not really require this much speed. A sudden escape and an eager arrival can both work, but avoid mixing them in one caption.

The reason for running

Across the upper grass, above her head.

• Choose running away or running toward.
• Keep the setup above her head.
• Use an ordinary trigger for an exaggerated response.
• Leave the bubbles visible where possible.
