The dog does not need to bite: one sentence is enough to make the visitor cry. Write a painfully accurate observation in the third panel.
The first two panels set up a physical threat, but the dog delivers an emotional one. A small truth about the reader’s habits becomes an unexpectedly effective attack.
The final tearful reaction is already drawn. The dog’s sentence should explain that reaction without adding another line to the last panel.
Kris Wilson published the original Cyanide & Happiness comic on May 18, 2015. Its joke takes the warning about a bark being worse than a bite literally. This template is a later edit that changes the threat to a hurtful statement. [1] [2]
Know Your Meme records an insult-based edit in the comments of a November 2015 FunnyJunk repost. An October 2016 Reddit version uses the warning that the dog can hurt someone in other ways, followed by a spoken punchline. [2]

The revised setup becomes a format for an uncomfortable observation. [2]
Write the dog’s line in the white space above its head in the lower-left panel. Keep the existing question and warning in the top row unchanged.
Use a specific observation about a familiar habit. A joke about an untouched game library or a neglected notebook works without insulting a particular person.
