Two Paths Meme Template

A boy faces two roads: one leads to a sunny castle, the other to a castle under lightning. Label the destinations to show how differently one decision could end.

The two castles give the choices opposite moods before any words are added. The left can stand for the sensible or pleasant option, while the right holds the temptation, trouble, or unnecessarily difficult route.

The boy is still at the crossroads. The picture does not force him down either road, so the caption can describe indecision, self-sabotage, or two ways to approach the same task.

Know Your Meme traces the captioned format to a February 16, 2020 Twitter post by IrisHeartfang. Later versions kept the two destinations and assigned them different choices. [2]

Put one option beneath each castle and identify the person deciding near the bottom. Use parallel phrases so the reader can compare the two routes immediately.

For a temptation joke, make the dark route appealing in the short term but obviously unwise. You can also reverse expectations by giving the cheerful castle a surprisingly difficult label.

• Keep each choice on its own side of the fork.
• Leave both castles visible; their contrast does part of the work.
• Use the bottom label to say who is facing the decision.
