Also called I’m Too Weak · Palpatine Unlimited Power · Darth Sidious Unlimited Power
Palpatine claims he is too weak, then immediately unleashes unlimited power. Pair two situations that explain a sudden and suspicious change in energy.
The upper panel has no strength left. The lower panel has more than enough. The contrast can be a real boost, like finding a charger, or selective enthusiasm for a more appealing task.
Both captions should describe the same person or thing. That makes the jump in energy the joke.
The frames come from Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith (2005). During the confrontation with Mace Windu, Palpatine pleads weakness; after Anakin intervenes, he attacks with Force lightning. [1]
The Unlimited Power phrase and reaction image appeared in memes by 2012. The paired “too weak” and “unlimited power” format saw renewed use in 2019 and 2020, including a two-frame Reddit post on June 26, 2019. [1]
Put the draining task or powerless state on the left of the top panel. Put the motivating task or restored power in the corresponding area below.
Leave Palpatine’s face and both original subtitles clear. The two added labels explain what changed between the reactions.
