An ordinary setback deserves an extremely dramatic response. Put the bad news on Snape’s dark cloak and let the backward lean supply the reaction.
Snape leans back against a window, with his mouth open and one hand spread beside him. Paired with a small inconvenience, the pose can read as disbelief, exhaustion, or a complete loss of patience.
A single line works well here. Describe what just happened, then leave the face and hand to show how much it affected you.
Alan Rickman plays Severus Snape, the Hogwarts Potions master, in the Harry Potter films. The official Harry Potter site describes Rickman’s performance as combining the character’s dry humor with his more troubled and conflicted sides. [1]
Place one caption across the lower part of the black cloak. White lettering is easy to read there and leaves the raised hand and face unobstructed.
Name a specific setback rather than explaining how upset you are. A missing file, an extra task, or a very long week gives the pose a reason to exist.
