Bane spreads his arms toward Pink Guy, who answers with the same pose. Label the imposing problem and its unlikely challenger to turn a mismatch into a confrontation.
Bane looks formidable while Pink Guy looks absurdly ready. The humor comes from treating both sides as if they belong in the same fight.
The smaller opponent can be an inadequate solution, a stubborn response, or a surprisingly determined challenger. Keep the relationship between the two labels clear.
The background comes from the Batman–Bane sewer fight in The Dark Knight Rises, released in the United States on July 20, 2012. The edit adds Pink Guy, a character from Filthy Frank, opposite Bane. [1]
Know Your Meme records a September 4, 2016 Twitter post as an early surviving version. A 9GAG watermark indicates that the image had circulated elsewhere, so that tweet is not a verified creation credit. Object-label captions gained another wave of attention in December 2019. [1]
The Batman–Bane fight supplies the scene behind the edit. [1]
An early Twitter post is followed by shares on Reddit; the original editor remains unconfirmed. [1]
New captions turn the two figures into mismatched people, problems, and responses. [1]
Put the imposing subject on Bane’s torso at the left, and the challenger on Pink Guy at the right. Keep their faces and outstretched arms visible.
Use short noun phrases. Readers should be able to tell why these two are facing each other without an extra paragraph above the picture.
