What does Never Again mean?

Also called Vulnerable Pink Blob · Owlturd Box Comic · Shen Never Again

A pink character leaves its protective box, gets punched, and returns behind thicker walls. Tell a four-step story about trying something once and immediately regretting it.

The first box represents caution or comfort. Opening it is an attempt to try again; the punch is the experience that makes retreat seem sensible.

Use a small setback for an exaggerated “never again” reaction. The final thicker box shows the character becoming even more guarded than before.

Origin

Shen draws the cost of letting your guard down.

Shen’s Owlturd Comix published “Vulnerable” on April 21, 2017. The comic follows a pink character that opens its box, gets hurt, and retreats. The original is also available in the Bluechair collection on WEBTOON. [1] [2]

Caption changes were appearing on Reddit by September 2018. A supportive variation followed in April 2019, and object-labeling parodies spread more widely in December 2019. [2]

Show the cautious start, hopeful attempt, setback, and retreat.

Use the white space beneath the two upper drawings and above the two lower drawings. Keep the character’s expressions, the fist, and the final thick border visible.

Write one short step for each panel. The last line should return to the first idea with stronger resolve.
