Also called Screaming Seagull · Seagull Inhales · Four Panel Seagull · Inhales Boi
A quiet seagull opens its beak, takes a huge breath, and ends in a red, exaggerated scream. Use the four panels to build from an ordinary moment to a shout that is much too loud.
The breath creates a pause before the outburst. Readers anticipate the yell, so the final line can turn an everyday complaint, request, or announcement into something wildly dramatic.
This is the four-panel version. The first two images give you room to establish what happened, the third delays the response, and the fourth releases it.
The source footage was uploaded to YouTube by Dimaniztlt on July 12, 2012. It shows a seagull moving its head back and calling out. [1]
On September 3, 2017, Twitter user dioyasu posted two-panel edits, including an inhales / BOI version. A vertical version reached Reddit two days later. This template uses more frames and a red final panel to extend the buildup. [1]
Describe the quiet starting point in panel one and the trigger in panel two. Leave a short breath cue in panel three, then put the shout in the red final panel.
The long image is easiest to read with brief captions. A short original complaint usually lands faster than a paragraph of shouting.
