Four women gather around one laptop outdoors. Give their shared concentration a subject: a family photo, a group decision, or a tiny piece of online drama receiving an entire committee’s attention.

Everyone is looking at the same screen, which makes a small online task feel like a group investigation. The joke can be about the number of people involved rather than anyone’s ability to use a computer.

Choose something that benefits from an exaggerated amount of scrutiny. A familiar group ritual, such as approving a holiday photo or choosing a film, gives the picture a clear purpose.

Place a short description over the darker clothing in the lower-left part of the photograph. Keep the faces and the laptop visible so the reader sees what holds the group’s attention.

A collective label usually works better than assigning each person a separate role. The image already makes the point that several people are involved in one small decision.

What the group is examining

Over the darker clothing at the lower-left.

• Name the thing everyone is examining.
• Keep the laptop unobstructed.
• Use one group caption unless separate roles matter to the joke.
• A shared obsession works as well as a misunderstanding.
